Re:Textile
We participate in Re:Texilte, the sustainable fashion project of WWF Korea, agreeing with the idea of using discarded fabric and stock to give new values and reduce carbon emission during designing new collection.
For this project, we used IKEA’s fabric products, such as curtains, pillow/ blanket covers and table cloth. Even though these items did not do their work, we wanted them to be reborn as our clothes and find their new purposes with emboidering messages such as ‘I WAS A CURTAIN.’ and ‘I WAS A BLANKET,’
We turned out the fabric inside out, took out seams that were normally treated invisible, and put the original care label of IKEA on the top of ours redesigned.
What we want to say is a message to reconsider whether things that have never been used should really be thrown away because they’re just past season or they have little difference in standard colors.
